Reverse Mortgage & HECM Closing Service
Pinpoint is a signing service for reverse mortgage and HECM closings, working with lenders and servicers across 35+ metros. Reverse mortgage signings run longer and heavier than a standard refinance, and they usually happen at a senior borrower's kitchen table. We send the same one or two vetted closers we know in each market, closers who have handled HECM packages before and aren't learning your file at the table.

What a reverse mortgage signing involves
A HECM, or Home Equity Conversion Mortgage, is the FHA-insured reverse mortgage available to borrowers age 62 and older. The signing usually takes 60 to 90 minutes, because the package is heavy on disclosures: the note, the security instrument (a deed of trust or mortgage), the loan agreement with the borrower's elected payment plan, the HUD disclosures, the amortization schedule, the counseling certificate, and the non-recourse acknowledgments. If both spouses are borrowers, both sign.
After a standard HECM closing, a three-business-day right of rescission begins. Saturdays count toward those three days; Sundays and federal holidays do not. No funds disburse during that window. A HECM for Purchase has no rescission period. Our closers execute and date the rescission notice correctly, because an error there stalls funding, and we return same-day scan-backs so the lender's rescission clock starts on time.
Who we work with
We handle reverse mortgage signings for HECM lenders, reverse mortgage servicers, and title companies handling reverse volume. Whether you run a steady book of reverse closings or an occasional one, the same vetted closers cover it, and they know the document stack before they walk in.
A note on RON for reverse mortgages
RON availability on reverse mortgages varies by lender and investor. We handle these in person, and by RON where the lender and state allow.
Coverage
We cover reverse mortgage closings nationwide, with established closers in 35+ metros. Whether the borrower is in a downtown condo or a rural county, we can get an experienced closer to the kitchen table.

What's different about a reverse mortgage closing?+
A reverse mortgage signing is longer and more document-heavy than a standard refinance, and it usually happens at a senior borrower's home. The package includes HUD disclosures, the loan agreement with the elected payment plan, the amortization schedule, the counseling certificate, and non-recourse acknowledgments. Our closers have handled HECM packages before, so they know the stack and can walk an older borrower through it patiently.
How long does a HECM signing take?+
Most HECM signings take 60 to 90 minutes. The time comes from the disclosure volume and from giving a senior borrower room to read and ask questions, not from anything unusual about the notarization itself.
Do both spouses have to sign?+
If both spouses are borrowers on the loan, both sign. If one spouse is a non-borrowing spouse, the documents will reflect that, and our closer works from the names and roles on the package so the right people sign in the right capacity.
What is the right of rescission on a reverse mortgage?+
A standard HECM closing carries a three-business-day right of rescission. The borrower can cancel within those three days, and no funds disburse until the window closes. Saturdays count toward the three days; Sundays and federal holidays do not. A HECM for Purchase has no rescission period. Our closers date the rescission notice correctly, because a mistake there delays funding.
Can the signing happen at the borrower's home?+
Yes. Reverse mortgage signings usually happen at the borrower's home, often at the kitchen table. We send a closer to the borrower rather than asking a senior borrower to travel, and we return same-day scan-backs so the lender's timeline holds.
